Colt Model 1871-1872 Open Top revolver manufactured 1872-1873. 44 rimfire. 6-shot straight cylinder. 7 1/2" barrel with integrated rear sight made specifically for this model. Varnished walnut grips. Marked on barrel top with Address Col. Sam L Colt New York US America. Marked on the left side of the frame with 1871 and 1872 patent dates. The revolver is in overall great condition however the navel engagement scene on the cylinder has completely worn off. The frame, barrel, trigger guard and buttplate have matching serial numbers. Serial# 3254. Manufactured 1873.
