Model 1861 Army revolver, total quantity made between 9000 and 12,000. Percussion .44 cal., 6-shot round cylinder, 8" octagon barrel. Original walnut grips. Note inspector stamp on left grip. This one picked up on a Civil War battlefield (not sure which one) by the father of Erwin Roy Peterson. Also known as "Cougar Anderson," a top-notch guide here in the Coeur d'Alene's before the turn of the Century.
