The pole is unpainted, with deep cuts delineating the forms that define the stacked figures.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn post-WWII North America, totem poles were absorbed into American and Canadian pop culture, and with the opening of the West to easier car travel, become symbols of Western North America itself. Hobbyists who had an interest in Native art and culture from being boy scouts when they were younger also created these monumental poles, many of which ended up at summer camps or roadside diners in Western States and Provinces.
