Henry Ruddick is a non-Native carver who was born in Alaska and married into the Williams family of model totem pole makers. Along with his brother Larry, he learned to carve poles from his in-laws and has been producing model poles for several decades, becoming a respected carver in his own right. This nicely carved pole features a thunderbird over a frog and has a wonderful surface finish. The pole is clearly signed on the back and has an attached paper that explains the history of the Thunderbird Totem, a good indication that this pole was originally sold out of Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. Signed Ruddick. 9"H x 8"W
