Item Number: A0357

Brain tanned buffalo robe. Sioux "Kit Fox" and "White Horse Owner" society warriors face off against Gros Ventre "Dog Men". All these warriors, Sioux and Gros Ventre, are all accomplished "shirt wearers", meaning that they are all seasoned warriors having been in many encounters, battles, horse raids, and as such awarded the right to wear the green/blue and yellow dyed warshirt. In the bottom pictograph, the Gros Ventre are out numbered and victory falls to the Teton Lakotas (Sioux) who not only defeat their opponents, but also take their horses as shown in the upper pictograph. In the middle pictograph is the "victory" parade of our different lodge members indicating the bravery and coup honors bestowed upon the returning warriors. To the left of the parade is the "four directions" circle of "life star" depicted with sun light rays (giving the good life) to the robe owner.
