Vintage chromo lithograph; 10" x 13". 1904 print of a famous artwork titled "Burning Arrow" or "Flaming Arrow." Painted in 1900 by well known and listed artist Astley David Middleton Cooper (1856-1924). The art print depicts Native American Sioux Indians during the great Sioux War 1876 - 1877. The work shows a group of Indians around a fire and one Indian sending a signal arrow. In the lower left hand corner of the print it is marked "Copyright 1904 by Taber-Prang Art Company SPFIELDMASS." Cooper exhibited this painting at the Pan-American Expo held in Buffalo, NY in 1901. It is a very popular image, and Taber - Prang Art Company obtained the rights to print chromo lithograph copies for resale.
