According to Robert Jackman "we handled the first sale of this weather vane 'Elmer Crowell was Cape Cod's leading decoy and bird carver and this weather vane appears to be his work' pointing to distinctive pieces such as the crick in the neck, notched wing tips on offset wings, fine insizing to the tail and the use of everdoer (non corroding) screws."
