Bill Long was a bronc rider in the '50s and '60s. After retiring, he started making saddles. He felt the North American stock saddle was an example of functional art and quite practical and comparable both to the rider and the horse under any and all conditions. He specialized in the "old" style. He made saddles in Spokane, WA and in addition to the shop ran a saddle making school. This is a custom 15" Texas Drover half seat made for a good friend Jim Stewart. The order was filled 4-11-87. His comment on a personal level "Jim, this one of a kind is all there'll be." Bill passed in 1991. Accompanied with original paperwork. Order and registry #140587.
