The shotguns features a hard black plastic buttplate moulded with the words Iver Johnson over an owl symbol. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe condition is okay overall. The shotgun is mechanically fine. The bore is clean and free of pitting or rust . The barrel, receiver and trigger guard have aquired an even brown patina. The front sight is a later replacement handmade from copper. The stocks contain minor period dings and nicks from use. A 4\" crack has formed starting at the grip. It appears to be stable and mostly cosmetic.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe shotgun has been decorated with numerous adornments including a rawhide strap at the grip, brass tacks on the stock and the letters N.P.R.R. lightly engraved on the receiver. Additionally, a stamped copper plate has been tacked to the right hand side of the buttstock. The plate reads,\"Mesabi Lumber Co.
