American Fur Company highly decorated Flintlock dated 1838. Having period brass tacks, abalone inlay, and brass plaque on stock having a bow and quiver full of arrows. Large caliber, side plate marked American Fur Co. 1838. Complete with period brain tanned Cree beaded scabbard. There were a few long guns put out by American Fur Co. as compared to Hudson Bay then most did not survive or were functional guns converted to cap and ball. Obviously this was a prized gift to a Northwest Native who desired to keep as a symbol rather than convert to a functional cap and ball. Ex. Montana collection. Rare piece of American history.
