Blackfeet dagger with bear jaw handle with Ghost Dance association. Attributed to Bull - Plenty Cups by Wendall Grangaard. Bull was born in 1824 to Blackfeet parents. He joined John Grass's band of Sihasapa when he came of age. He married Plenty Cups and they had one son, Fast Cloud, who was born in 1841. Plenty Cups left her family at some time and married another man, Omaha. Bull then moved in with his son Fast Cloud and his wife, Her White Baby." It is believed this knife was handmade by Bull for the Ghost Dance Movement. Blade appears to have been hammered out of a barrel band and shows much use. The handle is attached with copper rivets all showing much used patina. Ex. Orville "Hod" Hodson, The Blackpipe Collection. Attributed to Bull- Plenty Cups, but no provenance.
